SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining designated inland container yards and assisting in monitoring equipment levels and dwell times at terminals and depots to support demand.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinate equipment additions and deletions to the fleet and ensure timely reporting. Perform discrepancy audits and pursue aged equipment. Monitor equipment levels and dwell times at terminals, and depots to support demand, maintain equipment inventory, and perform reconciliations and system updates related to vessel calls. Coordinate positioning of equipment for present and future use. Responsible for day-to-day fleet management at these interior points. Maintain empty movements. Investigate and act on overdue equipment. Inputs data into equipment system and performs data discrepancy audits. Provide instructions and steering information to depots, terminals, and truckers on units (one-ways, subleases, container and chassis terminations, etc.) On and off-hire equipment with leasing companies. Maintain inventory of containers, chassis, clip-ons, etc. Provide equipment forecast reports and reconcile invoices from CY operators relating to charges incurred by CLS for their services.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent, with related course work after high school and job-related training.
EXPERIENCE: 2 - 3 years of domestic equipment control experience.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team.
OTHER: Bilingual (English/Spanish).
JOB SCOPE: Position impacts a single business unit/segment.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature, and the like. Extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of a computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods. May be required to work overtime.
FLSA Status: The position is Non-Exempt. May require the ability to work overtime to meet required deadlines. Must comply with all work rules, including those that pertain to safety and health.
