SUMMARY:
Responsible for overseeing the daily engineering operations of the hotel property. Manages the engineering team, ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Reports any significant issues or concerns to the General Manager or Director of Engineering.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform repairs, maintenance, and painting on all hotel areas and equipment.
Listen for unusual sounds or malfunctions from machines or equipment, discussing issues with the General Manager or other maintenance staff to diagnose and repair problems.
Dismantle defective machines or equipment and install new or repaired parts as needed.
Install and repair electrical wiring and electronic components for machinery and equipment.
Maintain and repair the physical structure of the hotel.
Fabricate and repair furniture and fixtures.
Attend all scheduled training sessions and meetings.
Assist with the delivery and setup of new equipment, including televisions, mattresses, tables, chairs, and more.
Communicate with the Director of Engineering on assigned projects and tasks.
Respond to customer requests in a timely and professional manner, or assign engineers as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise the shift engineers to ensure daily repairs and engineering needs are addressed.
Conduct daily checks on shift engineers' work, providing guidance and making adjustments when necessary.
Collaborate with the Director of Engineering to coordinate weekly work schedules.
Manage and monitor HotSOS requests to ensure efficiency and prompt response.
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE WE’RE SEEKING:

A minimum of 2+ years of related experience as a shift engineer in a full-service hotel.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Education and/or Experience: At least 2 years of related experience as a shift engineer in a full-service hotel.
Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and communicate professionally and effectively with guests, staff, and vendors. Must be able to diplomatically handle difficult situations and people while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
