SUMMARY:
Collaborate closely with restaurant management to create a dynamic, innovative, and memorable dining experience for all guests. Lead a skilled and knowledgeable front-of-house team dedicated to delivering exceptional guest service. A successful guest experience requires a staff that is well-trained in service etiquette, product knowledge, and is committed to meeting the unique needs of each guest. In this role, you’ll champion the restaurant’s values, craft highly personalized experiences for guests, and build lasting relationships that encourage repeat visits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead and facilitate service education through:
Daily team line-ups and briefings.
Training programs for new servers, bussers, hosts, and bartenders.
Ongoing professional development seminars.
Daily evaluation of restaurant service performance.
Conduct regular employee discussions and performance evaluations.
Ensure timely and efficient food production in coordination with the kitchen.
Collaborate with the Chef to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation. Participate in evaluating food products, kitchen staff performance, and product development aligned with the restaurant's market position.
Contribute to budget management by focusing on cost control, including cost of sales and payroll.
Communicate with management, employees, and accounting teams to identify talented personnel, ensuring appropriate training is provided for new and existing staff.
Assist in recruiting and filling open positions with qualified candidates. Provide regular, constructive performance evaluations and offer guidance for employee growth.
Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of all areas of the restaurant, both front and back-of-house, ensuring the highest standards are consistently met.
Coordinate with the Chef to maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization.
Supervise and support non-supervisory employees, providing direction and mentorship.
Carry out supervisory duties in accordance with Kimpton’s policies and local labor laws.
Participate in interviewing, hiring, training, and directing staff, along with assessing performance, rewarding, and addressing any disciplinary matters.
Respond promptly to guest complaints and resolve any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE WE’RE SEEKING:

At least 1 year of experience in a similar supervisory or leadership role in the hospitality industry.
A passion for creating personalized guest experiences that exceed expectations.
Highly motivated, adaptable, and capable of taking initiative in a fast-paced environment.
Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness Certifications (if applicable).
Strong multitasking abilities and the capacity to prioritize tasks in a dynamic setting.
Ability to learn and communicate in-depth knowledge of the restaurant’s menu, product offerings, and allergy information to guests.
Familiarity with or ability to quickly learn restaurant point-of-sale (POS) systems.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Flexible work schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education and/or Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a similar role is preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally with team members, guests, and vendors. Must also be able to handle difficult situations with diplomacy while maintaining professionalism at all times.
