SUMMARY:
Responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective service of our beverage program, ensuring it generates revenue and profits. You’ll provide restaurant guests with friendly and professional service, excellent food quality, strong price value and consistency of execution in an attractive, well-maintained environment. You’ll act as an advocate for the bar/restaurant, be a creator of ridiculously personal experiences, and develop relationships with guests that will compel them to return.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend all staff and Food & Beverage manager meetings and daily line-up.
Ensure all new server, busser, barista, and bartender training programs are maintained and implemented
Lead ongoing development programs, seminars.
Daily evaluation of restaurant service performance.
Create innovative beverage programs and promotions to market the bar/lounge.
Develop a selection and pricing strategy for all liquors and wines, and supervise their procurement.
• Assist the General Manager in creating the financial objectives of the bar/restaurant on an annual basis through the budget process.
• Assist in meeting the financial targets in the sales area by executing and enhancing the annual marketing plan, reacting quickly to new opportunities, running consistently high operation standards, and effective utilization of marketing funds.
• Help meet budget in all areas of cost control with consistent focus on cost of sales and payroll.
• Responsible for the daily cleanliness of all areas of the restaurant both internally and externally.
• Coordinate service area maintenance for café and bars.
• Communicate with management, employee and accounting staffs, identifying qualified and developed personnel and providing the necessary training as positions open.
• Help fill any open positions with candidates who are qualified and understand the "standards of excellence" required of them.
• Implement and conduct ongoing training programs for new and existing management and employee staff.
• Supervises all non-supervisory service employees.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE WE'RE SEEKING:
• High School Diploma is preferred.
• 1 to 2 years of experience supervising a bar program.
• Excellent customer service skills and flexibility.
• An advanced education or certification in beverage studies, or in-depth knowledge in the wine and spirits areas.
• Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness Certification (if applicable).
• Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma is preferred. 1 to 2 years of experience
supervising a bar program.
Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate effectively and professionally
with other business departments, guests, and vendors. Ability to diplomatically deal with difficult situations and people, while exhibiting a consistent level of professionalism.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to bend, reach, use a keyboard, dial, stand, walk, see, hear, write, and speak. The employee is frequently required to handle (hold, grasp, turn, or otherwise work with the hand or hands), finger (picking, pinching, fine manipulation), and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb stairs,balance, stretch, push, and pull.
