Responsibilities: * Prepare consolidated financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from departments. * Involved in day to day accounting processes (Invoice entry, bank reconciliation, month end closing) * Bookkeeping duties such as monthly accounting, GST/ HST, payroll, etc. * Analyze information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information. * Prepare general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts. * Preparation and completion of financial statements and tax returns for compilation engagements. * Assessing internal procedures to recommend improvements. * Assisting with monthly or quarterly close processes. * Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential. Schedule Available: Weekends Coverage (Afternoons) Job Duties: * Review and validate invoices by checking payment authorization, corporate policies and compliance of documentation requirements. * Audit invoices to ensure accuracy and completeness of paperwork / rate agreements. * Work with Dispatch and various outside providers to resolve billing issues. * Coordinate with drivers or external stakeholders to ensure all load delivery paperwork is collected on time. * Provide weekly feedback to management via progress reports. * Follow-up on outstanding invoices and collect all payments. * Monitor customer account details for non-payment, delayed payments and other irregularities and update payments / reconciliation in QuickBooks. * Investigate delinquent receivables accounts by communicating with customers via email and phone.
